How To Level Out 2025 F250 Super Duty When Towing 10,000lb Toy Hauler Bumper Pull

Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 12/08/2025

Question:

We tow a 10k bumper-pull toy hauler with our 2025 F-250 single rear wheel (not a dually) and the back end squats more than I’d like. Will this Firestone wireless kit actually level out the truck when we load up?

Hannah, this is exactly the setup the Firestone Air Bag Kit # F44XV was built for. The air bags give you up to 5,000 lbs of leveling support to bring your F-250 back to factory ride height, even with a heavy tongue load. Since it’s a single-path system, both bags inflate together - perfect for keeping that truck and trailer nice and level which allows for a much safe towing experience. Not many people realize an uneven setup can cause sway and braking issues, alongside other issues.

I really like this kit since you can tweak pressure from your phone while looking at the hitch setup, no need to guess from the cab like you would with an in-cab controller.

What kind of tongue weight are you seeing when the toy hauler is loaded? I can try and help you fine-tune the psi. Another thing you should look into is a weigh distribution hitch, if you don't already have one. Those are actually required for this trailer weight, per your owner's manual.

Thanks Andrew! Our tongue weight ends up around 1,050 lbs when the toy hauler is loaded with the bikes and gear. Does that change what PSI range I should start with?

@Hannah Hey there, thanks for the info! With a 1,050-lb tongue weight, I'd start around 20 or 25 psi and go up from there. It really just depends, you may need a bit more until everything is level. And since you didn't mentioned if you have a weight distribution hitch yet, I’ll toss out a solid option: the B&W Continuum WDH with integrated sway control, part # BW28FR. My coworker actually runs this exact setup on his Ford, and he loves how easy it is to hook and unhook compared to traditional bar-style systems. With a 10k toy hauler, it’s a really smart pairing - the WDH handles the weight transfer and sway control, and the airbags dial in the final stance. Both help put weight back on the front axle. Now if you go with both of these, you'll want to set up the air bags to the correct pressure first, THEN setup the WDH.
