Question:
Hi, I have ordered my first camper, a 2016 Coachmen Remote 14R. This weighs 2,750 lbs. and has a tongue weight of 316 lbs. I am towing with a 2019 Toyota Highlander Limited Platinum AWD. The top of the hitch opening is 15 7/8 inches and the top of the trailer hitch is 21 inches. Will this hitch system work for my setup? Thanks

Yes, it will Jim. The Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch w Sway Control item # AN28VR includes a shank with a 6" rise. This will put the top of the hitch ball 6" above the top of your receiver, which will be perfect for your trailers coupler that sits at 21". You'll want to invert the shank, like the picture below, and install the hitch ball platform at the highest bolts.
I recommend using our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches item # e98880 to secure the Anderson item # AN28VR to the EcoHitch item # 306-X7250 you purchased a couple of months ago. This lock will replace the standard hitch pin and secure your weight distribution system ball mount to your Highlander. Depending on what style coupler your Coachmen has you can also use the etrailer Trailer Coupler Latch Lock - 7/8" Span item # e98889 or the item # 2-1/2" Span item # e98887 to secure the coupler to the hitch ball.
A nice perk of our etrailer locks is you can get them keyed alike when you purchase them at the same time and select Keyed Alike from the drop down above add to cart.

Hi Jerred, Thanks for getting back to me. I just found out that I need a 2 5/16 ball. I believe that means I need part # AN53VR. Thanks, Jim
