Roadmaster Base Plate For A 2026 Chevy Trailblazer LT All Wheel Drive

Updated 12/04/2025 | Published 12/02/2025

Question:

We are looking at purchasing a 2026 Chevy Trailblazer LT AWD and currently have a Roadmaster All Terrain towbar. What would we need for the base plate setup to complete the hookup. Thank you in advance.

Hi Roy!

We do have Roadmaster base plates for your 2026 Chevy Trailblazer LT, but the correct one is going to depend on how your All Terrain towbar hooked up to your previous base plate. Do you know if it had a crossbar going from arm to arm, or were the arms connected completely separate? I have both options listed below as well as pictures for reference.

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM82GR
Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM72GR

Pretty sure the All Terrain will fit the direct connect style, but it never hurts to double check.

Do you also have the rest of the parts needed to get your Trailblazer set up for flat towing? Just in case you don't, I have those listed below as well:

Wiring:
Roadmaster Battery Disconnect for Towed Vehicle w/ Flat Tow Brake System - Gas Only # RM-766
Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights - 7-to-6-Way Adapter Cord # RM26FR

Braking System:
Portable:
Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System - Proportional # BLU37TR (will also need Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332)

Permanent:
Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251
or
Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Proportional # SM99243

We currently have the cross bar style. It has been used on a 2014 Scion XB, and would like to continue using it on our Trailblazer. We currently have the Brake Buddy and would like to continue to use it. What parts would we need to complete are system?

@RoyH Gotcha. Definitely go with the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM72GR. As to your Brake Buddy, other than the wiring components I mentioned above ( # RM-766 and # RM26FR), you will also want to grab the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM62FR. You will also probably need the Second Vehicle Kit for Brake Buddy Flat Tow Brake Systems - Classic II and 3 - Select II and 3 # BB59SR, unless you removed all the bits and pieces from the Scion you had it originally installed on.
