Question:

How does it compare to Anderson hitch? Both in handling, ride, and total weight of pinbox and hitch.

Hey Larry,

I am not sure what Anderson you are referring to. If it is the ranch hitch adapter the MORryde GooseTech # MR47MV is going to be a better option for ride quality. The built in rubber shear spring is great for provided better cushioning for any chucking or banging when towing. In terms of weight the GooseTech is 175lbs, while the Anderson is 59lbs.

The Anderson Ranch Hitch adapter does not have any shock absorption in it so the handling and ride will be rougher than the GooseTech. What kind of trailer are you pulling?

Hey Larry, what kind of trailer did you end up pulling with the GooseTech pin box? Your feedback on how the ride and handling turned out could really help others comparing it to the Anderson setup.

I currently have the Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch which combines some of the attributes of a gooseneck with conventional fifth wheel hitch. I pull a 44 foot Pinnacle and it performs pretty good with minimal chucking. I was interested in the GooseTech mainly because of the nearly empty truck bed but the Andersen is lightweight enough to remove easily. I’m near my payload maximum and wondered how the GooseTech compares to my conventional kingpin and Andersen setup and also how the ride might compare. Probably will wait a while to decide to insure there are no bugs in the new hitch. Thanks for your input.

@LarryC The GooseTech in my opinion is going to give a better quality ride than the original pin box. The rubber shear inside the pin box allows for 3 inches of forward and back movement and side to side. Meaning it absorbs the road shock a lot better.
