Do I need Power Watchdog if I have Smart Surge Protector
Updated 11/25/2025 | Published 11/24/2025 >
Question:
I have a 2026 LTV Unity with the upgraded smart surge protector with transfer switch. Is this Power Center compatible? under what situation would I want one, and is it something that will help my system?

Hey Craig, if your smart surge protector and transfer switch has an electrical management system (EMS) then you do not need the Power Watchdog system part # HU84ZR as essentially it does the same thing.
The only thing the part # HU84ZR does that your current system can't is boost voltage to optimize the power and prevent any type of browning out.

Thanks!! We downsized from a Class A DP and we have a 50amp Autoformers. We used it quite a bit at older parks. Now, with our 30amp I was wondering if I wanted, needed one that is 30amp compatible. And given Hughes. now has their Power Center, It seemed like a better idea. Any thoughts? Thanks, Craig
