Does the Progressive Dynamics 2000 Watt Inverter w/ Transfer Switch PD64FR Have Audible Alarms?

Updated 11/26/2025 | Published 11/22/2025

Question:

Hello experts, I have a trick question. I would like to learn if the Progressive Dynamics PD64FR inverter has AUDIBLEinch alarms within its error and safety system? I know they have a digital display that shows er codes and that is enough for me. Beeping or buzzing noises are not welcome in the hunting camp. I would need a 100 sure answer to this if possible. The manufacturer could be helpful... : Thank you all!

Hey Michael, welcome back. The Progressive Dynamics 2000 Watt Inverter w/ Transfer Switch item # PD64FR does not have any audible alarms or annoying beeping sounds. As far as buzzing goes, I pulled this directly from the installation instructions:

"A buzzing sound may be produced during large surges in output power. This will most commonly be observed on some refrigerators when the compressor is starting up. This buzzing sound is normal and should not last for more than 2 seconds."

Are you planning on installing this in your Alaskan slide in camper or did you get something new?

You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

Jerred, thank you for your reply. I am getting a new truck camper built and am looking into inverter options. I am open to other 2000-watt inverters that have NO "audible alerts" and even have outlets built into the inverter. I may add this type of inverter myself after receiving the new camper. Do you have any recommendation for an inverter? Thank you Michael

@Michael You're welcome. Congrats on the new camper. Take a look at the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter item # 34278156. This is a 2,000 watt inverter that has two GFCI plugs. It's specifically designed to power sensitive electronics and appliances you find at home like, coffee pots, computers, or TVs. The Go Power item # 34278156 has an optional installation method you can use that would sound an audible alarm if there's a fault. You can disable this to only flash an LED.
