Can Fas-Top Tonneau Cover Be Rolled Up / Removed When JayBar Ladder Rack Is Installed On 25 Sierra?

Updated 11/18/2025 | Published 11/06/2025

Question:

If I add the JayBar FT97MJ to my 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 6-1/2' bed, will I still be able to remove the Fas-Top FT42MV tonneau easily?

Yes you can, Mark. The JayBar ladder rack # FT97MJ mounts into the same tracks as the # FT42MV tonneau on your 2025 Sierra 1500 6-1/2 foot bed, so you can roll up or even remove the cover without touching the rack hardware. The crossbars sit high enough to let the tonneau roll freely underneath.

If you ever upgrade to the # FT26TV topper shell add-on, that’ll also work with the same rail channels.

What do you plan to carry up top - work ladders or more recreational gear? That’ll help me point you to the right accessories.

Mostly kayaks in the summer and lumber for house projects. I just didn’t want to have to take the whole rack off every time I need to open the tonneau.

@Mark You’re in good shape then, Mark. The JayBar # FT97MJ and Fas-Top covers were designed exactly for that kind of use. You can roll the cover all the way forward and strap it up just like normal. No need to loosen the rack at all. It’s a super practical setup, I might get one for my truck after seeing them in action when Fas-Top visited our facility recently. If you’re hauling kayaks often, I’d throw in a set of Rhino-Rack # RR581 or tie-downs in the JayBar’s T-slot - they make loading and securing the kayaks way safer and easier.
