Question:
For the Gen-Y Hitch Pin and Clip for 2-1/2inch and 3inch Hitches - 5/8inch Diameter x 4inch Span Part Number: 325-GH-099. I have a 2 1/2inch hitch but use a reducing sleeve to a 2inch for my trailer. What is this rated for using a reducing sleeve like my case? Related question: what other rated class? 2 1/2inch hitch pins that are straight not bent or locking can you recommend? Thank you

Hey BK, thanks for reaching out!
Most hitch pins don't have a weight rating, but the Gen-Y Hitch Pin and Clip # 325-GH-099 does, and that's 32,000 lb towing. This will be the same whether you're using a hitch adapter or not.
For a locking hitch pin I recommend checking out the Weigh Safe Hitch Receiver Locking Pin w/ Cap # WS54CR which has an inside pin length of 3-7/16". There isn't a weight rating for this, but it can handle any ball mount designed for a 2-1/2" receiver.
What I like about the Weigh Safe is that it not only locks, but it's also stainless steel so it's going to weather the elements much better than most other hitch pins on the market.
Are you more interested in a hitch pin that has the weight rating, or one that has a locking feature?

Hey BK, how did things work out with the Gen-Y hitch pin when using your reducing sleeve? Your update could make it easier for others towing with a similar setup.
