Question:
Question about tie down loop Part Number: 337B2402AL... Is it OK to attach these by drilling holes into the frame of an aluminum utility trailer and attaching the with lag bolts? These would only be used for light loads, such as tying down a tarp, etc. Thanks...

Thanks for your question!
You could attach the Buyers Products Tie-Down Anchor part # 337B2402AL to your aluminum trailer however, you are going to want to use different bolts. Lag bolts are designed to grip into something like wood. Using them on an aluminum frame will cause damage to the frame as well as not create a strong connection.
The Anchor has a 1/2 hole so you can use any sort of stainless bolt (to eliminate galvanic risk) in however length you are needing. You may need some sort of a backing plate depending how heavy the tarp is. We don't have anything that would of the same length to fit this anchor.
I know its not ideal and may not be the answer you were hoping for but the last thing I want is for your trailer to get damaged.

Hey, how did things go mounting the tie-down anchors on your aluminum trailer with the stainless bolts? Your results could really help others trying to secure light loads like tarps without damaging their frames.
