Question:
Hi, am looking for a brake controller for a 1997 7.3 F350 old body style. I pull 4 different trailers, biggest is 45 fifth wheel. Looking for proportional one, electric and electric over hydraulic, nothing wireless, one that will allow to manually activate trailer brakes, truck came with factory towing package with the 7 prong connector. Which options will work better with the old body style truck?, thanks

Hey Marcos, thanks for the information! For your 1997 Ford F-350, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller item # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that works with electric and electric over hydraulic brakes. It works with trailer's that have up to 4 axles and has a easily accessible manual override. You can also program your brake controller to recognize different trailer's and have the braking intensity adjusted automatically.
The harness included with the Prodigy P3 item # 90195 will allow you to splice into your factory harness to get it installed. If you would like a plug and play harness since you have the factory 7-way you can use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers item # 3035-P. The factory port you're looking for is going to be underneath the steering wheel to the right. I've linked an installation video below to help you find it.
How many axles does your 45' 5th wheel trailer have?
