Weld on a tie-down point where your load sits, not where the trailer came with loops. This forged steel D-ring and weld-on clip give straps, chain, and hooks a solid place to connect, so you spend less time re-hooking and repositioning tie-downs.
If you're hooking up wherever you can, you end up with off-angle pulls that twist hooks, shift the tie-down path, and make you reposition straps just to get the load settled. Welding this D-ring assembly onto your trailer lets you create a dedicated anchor point where your cargo sits, so your tie-downs start from a better line instead of fighting the layout you already have.
The included weld-on clip gives you a dedicated mounting point for the D-ring once installed. That means you can add tie-down points to match your load style, whether you're securing equipment, materials, or bulky gear that never seems to land near the factory tie-downs.
Tie-down hardware sees repeat tension, road vibration, and the occasional hard cinch. A forged ring is built to take that kind of repeated use without changing shape as quickly as many stamped or cast rings do. If you haul often, that helps your anchor point stay consistent over time instead of slowly deforming and changing how your hooks sit.
This assembly is stored with oil to help keep rust from forming during storage so the steel stays clean for welding. It's left unfinished from the factory because most installs are welded and then finished by you, which also means you are not stripping paint or powder coat before you start.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this etrailer Forged Steel D-Ring tie down, anchor, and clip. Now this is a heavy duty weld-on D-Ring tie down that's made for trailers and hauling setups where you need a strong, reliable anchor point. This is rated for a 1,667 pound working load, so it's plenty capable for securing equipment, machinery, or other heavy cargo. What's nice about it is that you can weld it exactly where you need it.
Instead of being stuck with factory tie down points that might not line up well. So you're gonna be able to position this so that your straps or chains pull straight. That's gonna help avoid awkward angles and give you a more secure hold. Before we go any further, let me give you some measurements. Looking at the outer, let's call it width.
Looks like we are sitting pretty close to two and a quarter inches. The outer length about two and a half inches. The internal width about one and three-eighths inches, and then the internal length or height about one in 13/16ths inches. The thickness of the ring as we have stamped here, is three-eighths of an inch. And this comes oil coated and unfinished, which basically means this is gonna be protected from rust during storage, but still ready to weld right out of the box.
No extra prep is gonna be needed. As I mentioned, the ring is made from forged steel, so it's tougher than standard steel and it is gonna hold its shape better over time. Even with repeated use and heavy loads. It's going to give you a solid, dependable spot to hook straps, ropes, or chains, all without worrying about bending or wear. So again, this has a 1,667 pound working load limit and a 5,000 pound brake strength.
It does come with this clip to weld that all together. I think that's gonna wrap up our look today.
