Question:

My indicator light shows amber after installing new ABS brakes. What should I check first? DX83WR on 4400lb axle.

Carlos, that amber light means the Tow Assist system isn’t detecting one of the wheel sensors. Start by double-checking that the ABS connector from the 10" 4,400lb ABS Brake Assembly # DX83WR you replaced is fully seated and that no pins are bent. Also inspect the harness for pinched wires near the flange. Once you confirm both sides are connected cleanly, cycle power to the system - it should switch back to green if everything’s good.

Did it go amber immediately after startup, or only once you started towing? That timing can narrow down the cause. I'm leaning towards one of the connections not being completely tight somewhere on the brake assemblies.

Hey Carlos, I had the same amber light after replacing mine. Ended up being a little bit of corrosion in one of the connectors under the trailer. Cleaned it out and it went green right away. Guess the connector could've been just not seating properly or something.
