The green wire from the controller attaches to the cold side of the brake stoplight switch, the white ground wire attaches to the negative battery terminal, the red wire supplies 12-volt power to the controller, and attaches to the positive battery terminal. The blue wire carries the brake controller output. Connecting the orange wire is optional, according to the manufacturer. It would also attach to the stoplight switch like the green wire, and is supposed to stop the trailer brakes from operating along with the vehicle brakes when the vehicle is in reverse. The black wire is intended to be attached into one of the dashboard light circuits (also optional, according to the manufacturer.)
The easiest way to wire the controller would be to use an aftermarket wiring adapter, part # 3065-S. The green and orange wire (if you care to use it) would attach to the red wire on the adapter. The white wire on the controller attaches to the white wire on the adapter, the blue wire on the controller attaches to the blue adapter wire, and the red controller attaches to the black wire on the adapter. If you care to use the illumination feature your controller offers, you can run that black wire to an available dash light circuit.

When I press the manual button on the controller I only get about 1 to 1.5 V I’m thinking my controllers bad is this true?
