Excellent concern, Steve. The Meyer Blaster Salt Spreader for 2" receivers # ME98FR is rated for about 350 lbs load capacity, while the Blaster # ME48FR is built for heavier work and is rated for 750 lbs. That means # ME48FR is more suitable for intensive commercial or large-property use, while # ME98FR fits a strong 1/2-ton setup for residential or light commercial jobs.

What’s the tongue load rating of your hitch and how much salt do you expect to carry at once? We can check whether your truck or hitch system is up to the task.

Thanks for the info. I’m running a 2020 F-250 with a Class IV hitch rated for 1,200 lbs tongue weight. Sounds like the 750RS (#ME48FR) should be a good fit. I usually carry a full load of rock salt for parking lots.

@Steve Perfect setup, Steve. Your F-250 and Class IV hitch are a great match for the Blaster 750RS. Just keep the load centered and secure, and you’ll be well within limits.
