Hey Joseph,

The Replacement Lift Bracket # C17008 can be used on an aluminum trailer as long as it is reinforced enough to handle it. The main concern is the aluminum trailer being strong enough to withstand the force of the weight distribution system. You may need to weld steel plates where you are going to mount it to reinforce the area. You will also want to make sure the thickness of the frame is at least 2-3/4" thick.

What kind of trailer are you looking to put this on?

I am looking to add brackets to my 24’ enclosed car hauler. I get some sway when alongside another big trailer/truck. 10k rated. I use to have these Reese ones in an old aluminum horse trailer but I don’t see these on your site. I would think the clamp on would spread the weight over the 4 1/2” rail. Reese Weight Distribution Accessory, Chain Hanger, Clamp On How about these claps? https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/CURT/C17003.html Thank you for the feedback.

@JosephC The # C17003 would work as well, but the same thing goes for those. You just want to make sure the aluminum frame is supported enough.
