How do I Carry a Bike Rack While Also Towing a Car Dolly

Updated 09/30/2025 | Published 09/26/2025

Question:

We are looking for a bike rack that would mount to the front frame of a tow dolly so that we can tow our two electric bikes in front of the car on the tow dolly. Do you have a product that would fit this?

Hey, Tara!

Thanks for your question. There are a few ways you can do this, one will be on out-of-the-box idea but hear me out!

Option 1: You can use the Flint Hill Goods ball mount with 2" receiver part # FHG75VR. I'm not sure what kind of drop/rise your current ball mount has but this one has a 2-1/4" drop.

Option 2: Part # 337RVA24 is a hitch that mounts to your RV bumper. You can put it anywhere on your bumper so you can offset it so that you will have enough clearance for your tow dolly.

I don't know if you already have a bike rack but one that I would recommend for this application is the Hollywood Racks RV Rider part # HLY64FR. It can carry up to 80 lbs per bike and the way the center mast is designed, makes it easy to attach the clamps to the bike frame. Another alternative is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE part # HLY84FR. This rack has the typical hook arm so isn't as accommodating for step through bikes but if that is not a concern for you, then I'd get this one. It also has the same 80 lbs per bike capacity.

If neither of these options work for you let me know. I can do some more digging to see what other options I can come up with.
