Does Spindle Nut Have to Use Washer
Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 09/24/2025 >
Question:
For a bearing number 44643 do I need a washer between the bearing and nut. I was told no. Then 50/50 when I looked it up online. Can’t get the nut threaded on enough to clean the pin hole. Without the washer I have enough clearance.

Hey Andrew, you can leave the washer off and you'll be just fine. If you can fit the washer on then that's great but if it prevents getting to the cotter pin it's not worth it.

Hey Andrew, how did things turn out with the bearing setup on your hub kit? Were you able to get the nut aligned with the cotter pin hole after leaving the washer off? Your results could help others sorting out the same fit issue.
