Question:
I want to use this on my wife’s 2014 Honda CR-V. Would the synthetic wool bonnet be too aggressive for a softer clear coat?

Expert Reply:
Daniel, in the Orbital Buffer 10" Diameter - 3,000 rpm kit # PT37VR, the wool bonnet isn’t too aggressive - it’s actually softer than the terry cloth one. The terry is for cutting/compounding, while the wool is gentler, making it better for polish or wax. On a Honda clear coat, I’d stick with a light-cut compound first, like the Griot’s # 349B110P, then follow with # 34911013 on the wool bonnet for a protective shine.
Are you hoping to just remove swirls, or do you want to do a full correction job?
