Availability Of Drive Gear For Dometic Awning Motor

Question:

Hello, I am looking for a drive gear for my Dometic awning motor. The part that attaches to the motor shaft and slides into the awning tube slots. Do you have? Thanks

Hello Raymond, thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to say that we do not offer a replacement drive gear for the Dometic awnings. We do offer one for the Solera awnings part # LC78VR, but this would not be interchangeable with a Dometic.

Have you tried reaching out directly to Dometic? They should be able to tell you how to get one.

Hey Raymond, were you able to get the drive gear you needed from Dometic? Knowing what worked could help someone else trying to replace that same part.

No I was not able to get one from them. They suggested I buy a new motor just for the drive gear. And the motor is discontinued! They could not have been less helpful. Thinking that replacing these motors is fairly common I stopped at some RV repair shops to check for replaced motors and at my 3rd stop found one. Charged me 5 bucks for it! Awning is back to working fine.
