Does The DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit DE66YR Use The Single Disc Brake Assembly DE89YR?

Updated 09/24/2025 | Published 09/22/2025

Question:

I was wondering if there is a reason that 4 x DE89YR is cheaper then 2 x DE66YR? They appear to be the same assembly just one is a single and the other is a pair.

That is an extremely good question, Jim.

The DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Maxx Coating - 3,500 lbs # DE66YR is indeed two of the # DE89YR put together to make ordering for one axle easier. That said, I have no idea why we have the pricing the way it is and I will be bringing this up to our pricing team. We are always told that it's some kind of computery algorithm thingamajig (which I am too much of a caveman to understand) that causes this to happen, but this one is a bit over the top.

Save the money and get four of the # DE89YR single sides.

What are you installing this on?

@JimC I hear that. Doing all four can be pretty time consuming without a lift. Let me know if you have any other questions or need help with anything down the road! : )
