Protecting Boat Wiring From Mice at the Marina
Published 09/22/2025 >
Question:
I’m storing my 21’ Sea Ray at a covered marina slip this winter. Last year I had damage to the wiring harness. Would the Pro 12V MouseBlocker MB94FR work in a boat engine compartment?
asked by: Don
Expert Reply:
Absolutely, Don. The Pro # MB94FR is made for enclosed, low-light areas like an engine bay. It runs continuously off the boat’s 12V battery and shuts down automatically if voltage drops too low. The strobe lights combined with the ultrasonic pulses make it a solid deterrent for marine storage. Just make sure it’s mounted where sound can bounce off surrounding surfaces for maximum effect.
Do you usually leave your battery connected through the winter or use a maintainer?
