Can GoPower PowerTrak Inverter Be Installed In Same Compartment As Lithium Batteries?

Published 09/16/2025

Question:

Can I install the 1,800W PowerTrak inverter GP94XR in the same front pass-through as my lithium batteries, or does it need a separate space?

Good question, Dan. Even with sealed lithiums, Go Power recommends not installing the inverter in the same compartment. Inverters generate heat, and in rare fault conditions, lithiums can vent, so it’s just safer to give them separate airflow. Mount the inverter nearby, within 5–6 feet if you can, so you don’t need oversized DC cables.

Have you measured how much space you’ve got in the pass-through?

And do you know which model you need? I see you were looking at the 30A 1,800 watt # GP94XR. We also have bigger sizes in case you want more headroom with the 30A 3,000W option # GP44XR.
