Hello Charles, thanks for reaching out. The maximum output of the Curt TriFlex NEXT Trailer Brake Controller # C85MV is 12 volts. Basically, it will ramp up from 0 to 12 volts depending on the gain setting. You can adjust the gain on a scale of 0.5 to 9.9 in increments of 0.5.

Thanks for the reply. To make a comparison I purchased the RedArc tow pro elite which lists its current output(amps) in the specs. They have a maximum output of 25 amps at 12v off that model. The controllers will input 12v dc and output 12v dc with the change in braking force coming from the current at that voltage. So would you be able to give the maximum current output of this Curt model in amps? I have several other trucks and would like to make a more informed purchase for the brake controller I purchase for them as the RedArc is significantly more expensive than this model. Thanks.

@CharlesB Ok gotcha. I am not seeing that Curt mentions this in their literature anywhere. Let me reach out to my contact at Curt and see if I can find out. I will post back in here when I hear back. For what its worth, I would typically recommend the Redarc over a Curt controller any day. Redarc is more reliable and looks better after installation.

@CharlesB I finally was able to squeeze an answer out of Curt. It was harder than you would think haha. According to Curt the TriFlex NEXT brake controller has a max output of 8.33 amps at 12v.
