Blue Ox is always upgrading their products even if it's just to improve it just ever so slightly. When they do that the part number will always change for various reasons. The Bx050 you mentioned is an older model that Blue Ox no longer carries. Part # BLU66CR is their most up-to-date model for their Patriot system. It works with the following models:
Blue Ox Patriot II supplemental braking system: BRK2016 (no longer available)
Blue Ox Patriot 3 supplemental braking system: BRK2019 (no longer available)
Blue Ox Patriot portable supplemental braking system: # BLU37TR (Current model available)
