What Is The Recommended Towing Capacity For My 2005 Town And Country?

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 09/03/2025

Question:

I recently bought a Class III trailer hitch from your company. I have a Town and Country with a 3.3 Liter V6. Id like to use it to tow a travel trailer. Whats the maximum Unloaded Vehicle Weight and hitch weight that you recommend for towing a trailer with my vehicle? Thanks, Mark

Hey Mark,

The towing capacity of the # 13389 hitch that you got is 3,500lbs. I did some research on your vehicle as well and it looks like it is the same 3,500lb towing capacity. That meaning the trailer you pull cannot be more than 3,500lbs fully loaded. I would recommend double checking your owners manual cause there is a chance your specific vin may be different.

We never recommend towing more than your vehicle can, and the 3,500lb capacity is the trailer weight, plus whatever you plan on loading in that trailer. What kind of travel trailer do you have?

Hey Mark, did you get a chance to check your owner's manual for your specific towing capacity? I'm curious to know if the 3,500 lbs capacity worked out for your travel trailer. Your experience could be really helpful for others with similar setups!
