Best Weight Distribution/Sway Control System For A 6,000 Pound 2012 Flagstaff Micro Lite 25KS

Updated 09/03/2025 | Published 08/31/2025

Question:

Have a 2012 Flagstaff Micro Lite 25KS, 6000lb max, pulled by 2012 Ford F150. What would be the best anti sway bar options, be it single or 4 point? Looking for options and new to RV trailers. Thank you.

Hi Amber!

With your 2012 Flagstaff Micro Lite 25KS weighing 6,000 pounds, the tongue weight would be right around 600 pounds. This is important as you want your tongue weight to fall as close to the middle of the weight distribution/sway control system's tongue weight capacity as possible. This will give you the best results. I would stay away from the single arm sway control options as I am really not a fan of them. A full set up will perform significantly better. With this also being on the smaller size, I think you can use a 2 point sway control system and be perfectly fine.

With that said, I recommend going with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW # FA92-00-0800. This has the perfect tongue weight range for your camper, but you will want to make sure you have room to mount the sway control brackets 27" to 30" back from center of the coupler. It looked like there were propane tanks on your tongue, but I couldn't really see where they are mounted. You will also need either the 2" ball # EQ91-00-6080 or 2-5/16" ball # EQ91-00-6100 to completely the set up (I couldn't find which size coupler your camper came with).

Guessing you haven't set one of these up before?

I have not set one up before but am trying to learn just enough to make myself dangerous. Once I know where to start (part or accessory that is recommended without it being overkill) I can work with someone to teach me how to and watch an install to learn even more. I appreciate the assist.

@AmberS You're very welcome! I attached an article we did for just this kind of situation. I think you will find it useful. One of the biggest takeaways is to use the jack on your trailer to help attach and remove the spring bars. It can lift the back of your vehicle and the front of your trailer to make the process of snapping them up/down significantly easier. : ) If you run into any other questions or anything, just let me know!
