Looking For Bike Rack With Loading Ramp For Electric Bike With Fenders

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 08/28/2025

Question:

Two questions: 1 can this work for a bike with a front fender? And 2 is there a loading ramp that works with it? I am a 78 year old woman with a 50 pound electric bike, so lifting it onto a rack is very difficult for me.

Hello Jean, thanks for reaching out. The RockyMounts BackStage Bike Rack # RKY10002 will not work on bikes with front fenders. The ratcheting hook much mount directly on the wheel. The fenders would get in the way of this and are not a secure attachment point.

Also, there is no ramp attachment for this rack.

That said, I do have a bike rack option I think you would be interested in. Take a look at the following:

- Thule Epos Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel or Frame Mount # TH99XE

This will work with heavy bikes and it works great for bikes with fenders. The arms can attach to the frame or the tire. Also, there is a ramp attachment, part # TH43VA. That will make loading much easier on you.

What kind of bikes do you have?

Hey Jean, did you have a chance to try the Thule Epos Bike Rack and ramp attachment? I'd love to know if it made loading your electric bike easier, as it could help others in a similar situation.
