Question:
I’m replacing a worn-out latch on my 2001 Pace cargo trailer. How tough is the install?

Jerome, if you’re handy with basic tools, the 36" trailer door latch # M393FR is a straight-forward replacement. You’ll mount the keepers on the frame, align the cam ends, and bolt the handle bracket through the door. The only trick is making sure the rods are square so the parts all sit correctly together. If your old latch rusted on, a grinder or penetrating oil may be your friend. You shouldn't need to drill new holes unless your old setup is not 36".
Would you like me to run through the bolt sizing so you’ve got the right hardware ready?
And for everyone else - how long did your original latch last before it needed swapping?
