Replacement Suspension Parts for a 2014 Holiday Rambler AlumaLite

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 08/22/2025

Question:

I am wanting to replace with upgrade all suspension components on my 2014 Holiday Rambler AlumaLite with tandem 3500 axles. Original EquaFlex equalizer and others stuff worn out. Equalizer horizontal length is 5 between shackle holes. Distance from hangar to horizontal holes is 2.5 Shackles are 2 1/4 center to center hole but only 3/16 thick. Leaf springs are 25 1/4 unloaded end to end hole center and 3 unloaded from hole horizontal to center of spring 1 5/8 with load. While sticker on side of RV says unloaded weight is 6026 lbs, it can carry cargo of additional 1700 lbs, so need upgrades closer to 7-8K rating total vehicle. Im good to overrate suspension without going to stiff if carrying full load on rough roads.

Hey Doug, thank you so much for all of the detailed measurements. Here are the parts you'll need to not only replace your suspension but be a solid upgrade:

Equalizer - MORryde Rubber Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR87ZR

Wet Bolt Kit - MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR46ZR

Leaf Spring - 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 5,000-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long item # e44SR

The MORryde equalizer is the closest replacement option to your original one. It may add the slightest of height to your trailer but other than that you'll be good. The leaf springs are two sizes up and rated at 2,500 lbs apiece. I think they'll be good for a 7k-8k capacity but if you're worried they're too overrated, the next size up is the 4,000-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long item # e57SR.

Have you thought about adding a set of shocks to help on the rough roads?

Hey Doug, did the MORryde equalizer and leaf springs work out for your Holiday Rambler upgrade? I'm curious to know if they improved your ride, especially on those rough roads. Your experience could really help others looking to upgrade their suspension.
