Do I Need Separate Fuel Tank To Run Velit RV Heater On 2018 Ford Transit EcoBoost RV?
Published 08/21/2025 >
Question:
I’ve got a 2018 Ford Transit EcoBoost that’s all gas. Do I still need to add a separate tank for the Velit 4000P gas heater, or can I pull right from my van’s tank?

Marcus, since your Transit runs on gas, the Velit gasoline powered rv heater # VE46QV is designed to tie into that same fuel system. The cleanest way is to install the supplied standpipe into your tank or sender unit, leaving about 25mm clearance from the bottom. That way you’re pulling fresh fuel without risk of running your tank completely dry or picking up garnish at the bottom of the tank. No separate tank is required unless you prefer an independent setup, which is still easy to do!
Are you planning to DIY the install or have a shop handle it?
