Does Gen-Y Cushioned Pin Box Require Use of Lock Out

Published 08/19/2025

Question:

Can you confirm there would be no lockout required for use on the GenY pin?

Hey James, I am not sure what hitch you planned on using with the Gen-Y cushioned pin box part # GY68GR but unlike pivoting pin boxes like the Sidewinder this does not require a lock out to function properly. What hitch do you have?

We have the Anderson ultimate gooseneck raised (#3217). Our Brinkley dealer called and said it’s not compatible, I called Anderson, they said it is. But Anderson’s configuration chart says it’s not? I don’t see any way to install a lockout, but at this point, I’m confused as to whether it will work with the Gen-Y executive torsion flex pin box our new Brinkley 3950 comes with. We’re supposed to pick it up next week, so we’re stressing a little over whether we have what we need or not? .

@JamesG I would go with what Andersen says is compatible with their hitch. Did Brinkley say it's not compatible with replacing the pin box of the camper?
