Question:

currently have eq/hitch with 1000lb tongue weight. have downsized to a camper with 280lb t-weight. can i just buy the 400lb eq-hitch bars or will the head need to be changed too?

Hey Gary, we can definitely help but you'll need to replace the spring bar and the spring bar socket to go with a lower spring rate rated setup with your Equalizer setup. For that you'd want the part # EQ90-02-0499 for the spring bars and then part # EQ90-03-0400 for the correct rated sockets. How did you like the Equal-i-zer setup?

@JamesonC I have not replaced them yet. I was waiting until I get all the mods and upgrades completed, like mounting a spare tire carrier and a bike rack to see what the actual tongue weight is. It actually seems to be working ok with the 1k bars so I may end up not changing them at all.
