Should I Count Amount of Turns of Lug Nuts When Installing Trailer Wheels
Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 08/12/2025 >
Question:
Hello, I bought these to go on my bushwhacker 10fb, it has a Dexter 2200 lb torsion flex axle with the 10 inch brake rotors. I have about 1.25inch of exposed stud I get about 9.5 turns with current lug nuts is this appropriate? I get about 10.25 turns when torqued. But old wheels had about 14 turns. The 10 turns gets me about 15 threads Please advise

Hey Troy, I wouldn't worry about the amount of turns you get on the wrench when installing your wheels. As long as the torque spec is met that's all that really matters when installing wheels like the # AM53NR that you referenced.
