How Does Your etrailer D-Shape Anti-Rattle Locking Hitch Pin for Benton Hitch Accessories Work?

Question:

How is this anti rattle? it looks like its clamping force is only on the receiver. With the hitch or rack free to wiggle inside.

Hello Karl,

Great question. The etrailer Anti-Rattle Locking Hitch Pin # e43JR uses a special block that slides inside your hollow shank accessory. When you tighten the pin, the D-shaped block pulls tight against the wall of the receiver, pressing the shank firmly into place. That D-shape is what keeps the block from spinning, so it can really wedge everything together. The end result is that your hitch and receiver move as one solid piece, instead of rattling or clunking around.

What Benton bike rack do you have, and what kind of bikes? Do you have a specific trail you like to ride? We have the Katy trail here in Missouri, it is always loaded with bikes!

Hey Karl, Did the etrailer Anti-Rattle Locking Hitch Pin work well with your Benton bike rack? I'm curious to know if it helped keep everything secure during your rides. Your experience could really help others looking to reduce hitch noise.
