Question:
I am thinking about using this to haul a 12’ Lund WC 12, the width of the aluminum fishing boat is 61”across. I could not find the dimensions between the two cantilever’s. Can you provide that. I have a 2021 F150 super cab with a 6 1/2’ box. The tiller empty weight is only 205 lbs.

Hey Harry!
The arms on the Cantilever Extension # TH24001XT are adjustable, and are supposed to be next to the uprights on the TracRac SR # TH43002XT-501. If you already have the ladder rack installed, then you can measure the width of the sliding bases and that will give you a rough estimate to where the cantilever arms will sit (see rough alignment in attached photo). I unfortunately don't have an exact measurement for you, but this will get you close.
I will say that a major concern I have is the sheer size of the boat and it sitting above your truck. That's going to catch some major wind and I can't imagine it will be pleasant to drive with or load/unload either. You're also supposed to center the load over all of the crossbars so you're going to have quite a bit of the boat hanging out over the back of your truck.
I know it's not your first choice, but I highly recommend considering a boat trailer like the CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks # CE48870. This is a bit pricier than the cantilever, and I understand it means more storage space you have to find, but it also means just hooking the trailer up to your truck to start your trip, and using a winch to pull the boat up on the trailer at the end of your trip, which will be much more pleasant than tightening up your belt and hefting that boat on top of your truck.
Ultimately it's up to you, but thinking long term, I'd rather take the money form the cantilever and put it towards the trailer.

Thanks Jon, My dilemma is that I am already towing a 25 ft travel trailer. Looking for a solution so that I don’t need to drive twice to the lake. Regards, Harry
