Igot my rocker ball today. it is the 2/5/16in style. it has a huge 1/1/4 size shaft. what hitch would you recommend. I own a 2012 4x4 Toyota tundra. stock as the day it came from the factor factory.i will be pulling a 2000 model TOP BRAND tandem axle steel trailer. 7,000 pd rating. i,m going to need a reciever to install the 4249 Rockerball. what would you suggest? Hi Raymond; I understand you need a ball mount like the # C45312 so you can install your Curt RockerBall # C29FR. Do you also need a trailer hitch like the # C15398 for your Tundra? Since you said you need a hitch, and a receiver, I'm just trying to clarify. If you have a hitch on your truck it probably has a 2" receiver on it that the ball mount will fit. I do know these terms get used interchangeably a lot so it can be a bit confusing.
Assuming you have a hitch already on the Tundra the best way to find a ball mount is to measure since you already have your trailer. This will help you get the right rise/drop to keep everything level. Measure from the ground to the top inside of the receiver, then measure from the ground to the bottom of your coupler. Then use the following formula:
Hitch Height (A) - Coupler Height (B) = Rise/Drop (C)
I attached an article below as well which runs through the process in more detail. If you can get me this information I will see what the best fit is for the RockerBall with your setup.
