Trailer Tire Recommendation for 2009 Forest River Shockwave in Sand
Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 08/04/2025 >
Question:
Im looking to buy tires for my 2009 Forestriver Shockwave. Model T29FBSP. It has three axles. Tire size is ST225/75R 15. There arent many brands out there to choose from. We do like to hit the dunes alot so we have to air out so we dont get stuck in the sand. Do you have any recommendations on what brand would be good for this application?

Hey Juan, since you'll be in sand and want to air down your tire pressure your best solution would be a bias ply tire like the part # AM1ST96 since they have thicker sidewalls that can handle lower pressure better.

Hey Juan, how did the bias ply tires work out for your trips to the dunes? I'm curious to know if they handled the sand well, as it could help others looking for a similar solution.
