Happy to help you out, Alan!
I'm not entirely sure how much weight your setup involves, so I’ll give you a few hitch options to consider. Since you mentioned it's a toy hauler, you’re probably towing a good amount of weight, so I’d recommend going with a system rated for at least 20,000 lbs. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with choosing a hitch rated even higher
A great 20K option would be the Curt A20 hitch with custom rails, part # C53WV. It's one of our most popular hitches, and customers really like how solid it is. It uses a fully articulating head with a secure jaw design, which helps reduce those annoying clunking sounds while towing.
If you want something a little more heavy-duty, you might consider part #C33WV, which is the Curt A25. It’s essentially the same setup as the A20, same jaw design and ride quality, but rated for 25,000 lbs instead. Like the A20, this version also comes with the custom rails for your truck.
To make hooking up easier, especially with a fifth wheel, I’d recommend adding part #20110. That’s a wiring harness that installs a 7-way plug directly in your truck bed, so you don’t have to run your trailer plug all the way down to the bumper connection every time.
For brake controllers, I’d recommend part # 90195, which is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3. It’s a traditional controller with a digital display and can be mounted at any angle, as long as it’s level from side to side. Great if your dash doesn’t have a flat spot
Another option is the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite, part # RED52VR. It’s a more low-profile setup, only a small knob is visible on your dash. It also gives you a clean, factory-style look. Once calibrated, it's really easy to use!
That should be everything you need to get your toy hauler ready for the road. We also carry plenty of towing accessories like mirrors, hitch aligners, and more, so if you’d like to explore those or have any questions about the parts I mentioned, just let me know.
I’m happy to help however I can!
