What Brake Components are on Trailer Rated for 2,000 lb

Question:
Hi. I have a trailer rated for about 2000 lbs. it’s a 5 on 4 1/2 for the studs. They’re half inch thick studs. Was wondering if I should get the 7 inch drum setup or the 10 inch setup for 3500 lb axles. Thanks

Hey Zach, it really comes down to what axle capacity you have as that will dictate what hub/drums will fit and then from there what brake assemblies you'd need. If it's a 2,000 lb rated trailer I'd assume you have a 2k or 2.2k axle.
In meantime I attached a help article on parts needed to add brakes to a trailer but let me know what axle capacity you have.
