Question:
Hi, I have an 1983 Ranger Trail which has a rectangle axle, 2inch x 3. It is a 4inch bottom of axle to mid-hub. The axle is 85.5inch inches hub face to hub face. Leaf springs are standard 1 3/4inch with a spring center of 65inch Spring center bracket to bracket is 26, and swing bracket 25.5. Do you carry or know where I can get a replacement for this axle as it was put in salt water by previous owner and apparently never washed down. After inspecting it thoroughly, it is a ticking time bomb with a Ranger 330V laying on it. Thank you for any help on this.

Hello Ben,
We can help you out with some of the parts, but unfortunately, the axle will need to be purchased elsewhere. We don’t carry the size you need. If you do a Google search for "square axle for Ranger trailer 2"x3", a few companies should pop up with exactly what you're looking for.
- U-bolt kit: You’ll want the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 2" Square Trailer Axles - 4-1/2" Long U-Bolts - Zinc # CE23103.
It’s always recommended to use new U-bolts, as they tend to stretch over time.
- Leaf springs: 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long # DX23CR
I’m sorry we don’t have everything you need. A few years ago, we were getting uneven wear on our 2004 Ranger Trail and had to replace the axle too, I also ended up going through another company for it.
By the way, have you been able to take the boat out since you got it? What color is it? We just had to get a new motor (boat = bill out another thousand), and finally got it out for the first time after seven long weeks! Man, I never realized how much smoother a new motor would make the ride—especially over high wakes. Totally worth the $$$.

Hi, no, I purchased the boat through Fake book marketplace. The boat overall is in good shape for a boat this old. I purchased a Mercury for it but have not had it out as it needs lots of work. I was able to contact Pacific Trailers and they are making me the axle and all additional parts (springs, bolts, etc.) as well. Appreciate you getting back to me. I have purchased parts from trailer in the past and will continue to in the future. Thanks again for returning a reply to my inquiry. Sincerely, Ben L.
