If you have crossbars on your vehicle we may be able to come up with a solution for you to be able to carry a kayak and a paddleboard at the same time. You will need to determine if you have enough room to hold both items.
I recommend the Thule SUP Shuttle Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier, part # TH811XT. It has a telescoping design that will allow paddle boards up to 34 inches wide. This carrier fits round, square, aero, elliptical and most factory crossbars, and can hold up to 2 paddleboards. I have attached a link to a product review video for this rack you can check out.
Another option if you have Thule Rapid Aero, AeroBlade and Xsporter load bars and most factory crossbars is the Thule Surf Pad, part # TH845000. These wrap around the crossbar and with straps like part # TH531, hold the paddleboard or surfboard securely to the roof rack on your vehicle.
To carry your kayak on the roof of your vehicle with crossbars I recommend the Thule Hull-A-Port J-Style Rooftop Kayak Carrier, part # TH834. This J-style carrier holds the kayak on its side and includes tie-down straps to secure the carrier to your crossbars. It will carry kayaks up to 36 inches wide and will work with round, square, elliptical, aero and most factory crossbars. This carrier will not work with Rhino Rack Aero crossbars. I have attached a link to a product review video for this carrier.
For the bow and stern tie-downs I recommend the Thule Quick Draw Tie-Down Ropes w/ Ratchets and Strap Loops, part # TH855XT. I also recommend the QuickLash Bow/Stern Tie-Downs, part # MPG308, and the Hood Loops for Thule Bow/Stern Tie-Downs, part # TH529.
If you have an RV, or SUV, or van that makes it difficult to reach the roof I recommend the Tire Step, part # HE4040. This easily slips over the wheel and allows you to reach the middle of your roof. This also has a weight capacity of 400 lbs and folds flat for easy storage when not in use.
If you do not have a roof rack on your vehicle, you can send me the year make and model along with the roof-style you have and I will be happy to make a recommendation that will work for you.
