High Weight Capacity Roof Rack Recommendation for 2012 Toyota Highlander for Roof Tent
Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/18/2025 >
Question:
I have a 2012 Toyota Highlander with removable raised rails. I’m wanting to mount a rooftop tent for camping. I would estimate an overall weight of 215lbs. Can you recommend a roof rack or crossbar system that would work with my application? Thanks

Hey Ron, the highest capacity roof rack we offer for your 2012 Toyota Highlander with raised rails is the Yakima HD roof rack part numbers # Y23NB which itself has a capacity of 500 lbs. You'd want to make sure your vehicle roof also has the needed capacity for the tent as well. Which tent do you have?
