Best Replacement Actuator for a Titan Aero-6000

Updated 07/21/2025 | Published 07/17/2025

Question:

I have a 2002 four winns trailer with surge brakes and am looking to replace the entire actuatortitan Aero-6000. Ive seen a recommendation for a Dexter actuator that doesnt match well.....that being said Id like to useDexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc - 2 Ball - Zinc - 7.5K....this one closely resembles the original actuator.Should I be looking at a different one? My trailer has a solenoid for backing up. Toungue is 3 square tube. Let me know. Thanks.

Hey Adam, thanks for the information. The Dexter Brake Actuator with Manual Lockout item # T63FR is going to be a pretty comparable replacement to your Titan Aero-6000. It works with a 2" hitch ball, fits a 3" wide tongue, and has a 7,500 lbs capacity.

You can add the Replacement Solenoid Valve for Dexter Brake Actuators with Reverse Lockouts item # T4748800 to mimic your current setup. This will allow you to back up without engaging the brakes or having to get out and activate the manual lockout.

What kind of boat do you have?

Jerrad - If the existing solenoid is working would I need to purchase the Dexter solenoid valve? Is there a compatability issue? The current one should be powered off the truck wire harness and should lockout in my mind, am I missing something? Let me know. Thanks!

@AdamG No, not at all. Didn't know if yours was working or not so I just threw it in there so you knew what you needed. These questions live on the internet too so the next person might need one.
