Could Machine Shop Remove Pin of Andersen Rapid Hitch Ball Mount
Updated 07/23/2025 | Published 07/16/2025 >
Question:
I’ve tried everything even a slide hammer to remove internal pin on my Andersen adjustable hitch, but nothing works. Is it possible to have a machine shop drill the pin out and replace with a new one?

I am pretty confident if you took it to a machine shop they would have a way to either extract the pin or drill out the old one. None of us here have worked at a machine shop though so we aren't super familiar with exactly what tools they might use.

I didn’t take it to machine shop. Decided to buy new part with pin. Figured time and cost would be almost the same. I am unhappy about Anderson though. They need to address this issue. Maybe advise when you purchase to lube internal pin at first and yearly after.
