Can A Weight Distribution Hitch Be Used On A 2025 Volvo XC90?

Is this compatible with 2025.5 XC90 Plus and is it weight distribution system rated so I can use my Blue Ox Sway bar to tow 4500lbs? If not what would you recommend?

Hello Troy, thanks for reaching out. The Stealth Hitch # SH27FR will fit your 2025 Volvo XC90, but it is not compatible with a weight distribution hitch. It doesn't matter what hitch you get for your XC90, none of them are made to be compatible with a weight distribution hitch. This is because your XC90 has a unibody frame. The unibody cannot handle the stress of a weight distribution hitch. This is not just the case for your vehicle, but the case for any vehicle with a unibody frame.
So it would be possible to tow a 4,500 lb trailer using the stealth hitch and the # SH36FR towing kit, but you will not be able to use a weight distribution hitch.
Unfortunately, we don't have any options to help with rear end support on this vehicle but if you were interested in a weight distribution system for its anti-sway properties, you can use the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control part # 335TSC-1000 for this.
