Solution for Water Getting in Ventline Vents While Driving

Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 07/09/2025

Question:

Hi, I have 3 vents on my rv that wont completly close tight and while driving in rain water does get inside. I replaced the operators to close the vents as well as replaced the Dome Seals for Ventline Ventadom. Is there an extension or possibly higher better dome seal I should use? any wisdom and recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey Steve, welcome back! Since you replaced those parts and it still isn't sealing well I recommend adding additional covers over the roof vents. The MaxxAir Standard Roof Vent Cover # MA00-933066 will install over your Ventline and keep the rain out while driving or parked. You probably won't be able to fully open the vents anymore but I do expect them to at least open 50% which will still let you achieve max airflow.

Hey Steve, did adding the MaxxAir roof vent cover help keep the rain out while driving? I'm curious to know how it worked for you, as it might help others facing the same issue with their RV vents.
