How Do I Measure To Find The Correct Bolt Pattern For My Wheel?

Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 06/23/2025

Question:

Part Number: TA58GR, Rambler ST205/75R15 Trailer Tire with Black Vesper Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2. Is the 4-1/2 the bolt pattern measurements? How are you measuring this from which two holes? I have a 5-lug pattern just want to make sure the distance for the holes is the same

Hey Tim,

Yes, the 4 1/2 is considered the bolt spacing in that bolt pattern. The 5 lug wheels are a bit tricky to measure, and a lot of times are measured wrong. I am going to attach a link to a help article that walks you through how to measure a 5 lug pattern. If you measure from center of one lug nut to the farthest outer edge of one of the two farthest lug nuts or bolt holes. There are a couple pictures on that article that better reflect how to.

The most common size is a 5 on 4 1/2 but it is always good to double check. Let me know what measurement you end up getting for your rim.

Hey Tim, did you have a chance to measure your rim using the guide I shared? I'm asking because knowing your outcome could help others with similar questions.
