Replacement AC for 15k Btu Dometic Penguin 2

Hi Brady! We have run into a lot of compatibility issues with Dometic so we only recommend complete system replacement at this time. You don't want to pull the old AC off, haul the new one up, plug it in and find that it isn't working and requires a new air distribution box and thermostat to function.

Also, everything is switching to the new R32 refrigerant because of the new EPA regulations. Right now is a great time to upgrade since the new parts aren't backwards compatible with the old R410A units and those parts are already phased out. The new Furrion Chill HE Low-Profile AC you were looking at is an R32 unit so it would be a great option to replace the Penguin 2. You can choose from the following based on color:

-Furrion Chill HE Low-Profile RV AC System w/ Heat Pump - Single Zone - 15,000 Btu - White - R32 # FR46AD

-Furrion Chill HE Low-Profile RV AC System w/ Heat Pump - Single Zone - 15,000 Btu - Black - R32 # FR96AD

The only thing with these is there is a bit of a wait right now since AC units, especially the new Furrion, are selling out (it is that time of year). If you need a more immediate replacement and want to keep the heat pump the GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC System w/ Heat Pump - Ducted - 15,000 Btu - White - Complete System # GE85ZR is a non low-profile alternative.

Hey Brady, did you decide to go with the Furrion Chill HE or the GE Deluxe Plus for your trailer? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it might help others facing similar compatibility issues.
