Why Does The Saris Bones 3 And EX-3 No Longer Fit The Toyota Highlander After 2019?

i own a Saris Bones 3 bike rack but have recently purchased an SUV for the first time. im seeing that both the regular Bones 3 and EX-3 stopped being compatible with the Toyota Highlander after 2019do you know why that is?

Hey Andrew,
I am not sure exactly what specific reasons were made for the fitment, but I do know between the 2019 and 2020 year models of the Toyota Highlander there were significant body design changes. That is going to cause certain items to not fit models after certain years. This is very commonly seen in hitches, roof racks, bike racks and trailer wiring. I am not sure what specifically is different, but the body design change is what cause those Saris racks to not be compatible with 2020 and on.
Yakima does have a similar rack that is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Highlander, # Y02634. How many bikes do you normally carry?
