Troubleshooting An iRV63 Radio Turning Itself On Randomly
Updated 09/09/2025 | Published 06/10/2025 >
Question:
Hello, I have an iRV63 radio in my Flagstaff 22TBS that was turning itself on sometime in the night, every night. I unplugged/plugged the power connector and that seems to have at least temporarily solved the problem. 4 days and counting. My question is does that sound reasonable and if so would it point to the ACC connection? Thank you very much.

Hey Jeff,
There are a few things that could possibly cause that radio to turn itself on randomly. By far the most common issue is just a loose connection. It sounds like so far that may have just been the issue and unplugging it and plugging it back it solved it.
If it continues again I would check the 15 amp fuse on the back of the unit. A blown fuse could cause that as well and you can easily replace that. There are some internal fuses as well inside the unit so if it continues and the fuse in the back does not fix it, it may be an issue with the unit itself in which it would need to be replaced.
If these do not fix the issue please let me know and I can continue to troubleshoot for you.

Hey Jeff, I'm glad to hear that unplugging and plugging back the power connector seems to have worked for now. Have you had any more issues with the radio turning on by itself since then? I'm asking because your experience could help others who might face a similar issue with their radios.
